Dr. Berit Dool
Principal Investigator - Medical Lead for Canada
Dr. Dool is a Family Physician who completed medical school at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (now Northern Ontario School of Medicine University) in 2017 and completed her Family Medicine Residency in Sydney through Dalhousie University.
She is excited to have been given the opportunity by Care Access to re-engage in the Cape Breton medical community.

Andrew Hamilton
Director of Growth and Operations - Canada
Andrew's background is in nutrition and dietetics, and formerly, he managed an ISO certified manufacturing facility that developed and distributed a sport-nutrition product line internationally.
Previously, Andrew worked with Health Canada Regulated Clinical Trials for five years, and spent a year working on global teams in pharmaceutical trials in multiple countries.

Kelsey Hamilton
Clinical Research Coordinator
Kelsey moved to Cape Breton five years ago. She brings comprehensive clinical skills to Care Access having worked as a nurse in both the surgical and emergency departments at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre, and in continuing care as a Care Coordinator in multiple communities in Cape Breton.
Kelsey started research during her undergraduate degree, looking at the impact of food deserts on students' diets. While in Halifax, she joined a Clinical Trial team at Mount Saint Vincent University as a Research Coordinator, looking at biomarkers of the impact of functional foods and nutraceuticals on metabolic syndrome.

Dr. Christopher Lai
Principal Investigator
Dr. Christpher Lai is a cardiologist with over 40 years of experience in clinical research and practice. Dr. Lai has established many programs in Northwestern Ontario in pursuit of his dream of helping people with cardiac disease live longer and healthier lives. As the owner and Director of the largest cardiology clinic in Northwestern Ontario, Dr. Lai has always been committed to improving practice and the field of medicine through research, while being an active member of the local community. He has been hosting Walk with the Doc for 30 years, to help keep patients active, while giving them access to healthcare professionals.
Dr. Lai has been a leader in Cardiology Research for several decades. Care Access is delighted to partner with Dr. Lai and Curan's Heart Centre to bring his experience and expertise in research and as a clinician to the Care Access mission of making clinical trials an option for patients - everywhere.
